Andrew Mooney is a classic guy. Met him on a trip he did with Marti Paradisis and Stu Gibson a couple of years ago. Moon was getting covers, spreads and plenty of attention in general from the surf mags. You would have thought his major sponsor Quiksilver would have been getting great bang for their buck. Well, the financial crisis hit and the big Q was caught between a rock and a hard place fighting for their own survival after a couple of bungled purchases. So, who are the first to get the boot - perhaps those guys who are at the end of their current contract. The guy rips and he's always chasing the bigger stuff. Only last week he was a standout at an "Ours" session in NSW. You'd think the major surf brands would be banging down his door by now...

ReplyDeletenice one fredo..... mooney pushes the progression of surfing both in the big and small stuff, so im sure a contract for the kid is just around the corner....if it doesnt happen its gonna be a massive lost for the surfing world. we should convince some millionaire to give him dosh....its fucking bullshit
